An Analogy
-
a pair of words that serves as the
basis for the completion of another pair. Analyzing analogies can help in
figuring out the meaning of unfamiliar words and learning new meanings for the
words you already know.
Example : temporary
: permanent :: stationary : mobile
Note : We read the above analogy as :
“Temporary is to permanent as stationary is to mobile “

RELATIONSHIPS IN A WORD ANALOGY:
